Israel Adesanya and Dricus du Plessis‘ beef is showing no signs of a peaceful resolution. After Adesanya’s comments during a recent appearance on ‘The MMA Hour’, Du Plessis has now retorted to the champion via his social media.

Adesanya and Du Plessis’ beef started back when the latter called him a ‘real African’ unlike Adesanya. du Plessis was stating how he was born in South Africa and trained out of there unlike Adesanya who trains in New Zealand. These comments touched a nerve with Adesanya and the two have been going back and forth ever since.

Adesanya wanted to fight du Plessis in July as per his statement on ‘The MMA Hour.’ ‘Stylebender’ has begun lapping his division as a champion and wanted a fresh challenge. However, the UFC brass decided to put du Plessis through a test of fire by matching him against former champion Robert Whittaker. Their fight will go down at UFC 290 and will essentially be a title eliminator.

And when he does, I’m gonna be right there in the cage so he can turn around in September. No bullsh*t. No ‘I’m hurt this and that.’ Nope. We’re gonna fight in Sydney in September.”
