The South African sensation has been chasing the belt for a long time now and seems like he is not keen on missing out on this opportunity. The UFC seasonal press conference witnessed an unfiltered version of Du Plessis who nearly made Strickland lose his composure. Optimism in Du Plessis is at an all-time high as the fighter is moving to Canada weeks ahead of their intended fight.

Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Ples͏sis have been at odds for quite ͏some time. The UFC’s ͏recent se͏asonal press conference was nothing short of a blockbuster, with Du Plessis deliver͏ing scathing remarks about Stricklan͏d’s. abusive childhood and his father.

The ultimate middleweight showdown is set to happen on January 20th and Du Plessis has already left for Canada. The fighter took to his Instagram handle to add a post with an emotional quote before departing to Canada. He wrote, “That’s a wrap! The hard part of camp is in the books, prepare to see the best Stillknocks by far step in there on 20 Jan. My coaches my team and everyone involved in this camp I will be forever grateful. Tonight we fly out to go get what I promised myself, those who’ve always been in my corner and the Whole South Africa. I promise you I’m bringing home the @ufc MW title or I’ll die trying.”

“Stillknocks” has been undefeated in the UFC so far and he was supposed to fight Israel Adesanya at UFC 293. However, a sudden injury in his foot drafted him away from the fight, and Sean Strickland had to step up. “Tarzan” victory against Adesanya was a shocker for the world and even for Du Plessis who added a statement at that time claiming that “Stylebender” is lucky that he fought Strickland and not him.

Du Plessis’s decision to go to Toronto 2 weeks early can be considered a better game plan because the weather conditions are harsh and he will get more time to adjust to the climate. Fans believed that Du Plessis could defeat Strickland and flooded to offer support for the South African.

Fans react to Du Plessis’s decision to fly early to Toronto

As soon as Du Plessis announced that he would be leaving his hometown for the match, fans rallied to Instagram to show love and affection to the fighter. Some of the comments by the fans are as follows:-

One fan claimed that Strickland’s victory over Adesanya was such a shocker for him that he would not predict anything early on.

On paper he wins easily… but after seeing Izzy get picked apart I think it’s going to be a long night for him if he doesn’t get the knockout early

Another fan poured unprecedented love and affection for Du Plessis.

Furthermore, a fan claims that Du Plessis is destined to get the middleweight title in 2024.

Dricus du Plessis is destined to emerge as the undisputed UFC Middleweight champion in 2024.

UFC 293 would have been Du Plessis’s endeavor for the middleweight title but the injury stopped him. However, in 2024 the fighter is going in with a full camp and is getting much more love from fans.

And on the flight back the belt is coming home with the new champion 

Strickland cried about Du Plessis’s comments on his abusive childhood on Theo Von’s podcast. “Tarzan” got support as well as hate for his actions and seems like one of the fans wants Strickland to be stripped of his belt.

Du Plessis has been undefeated in the UFC till now and a fan believes that he has the potential to absolutely destroy Strickland.
