Elon Musk has taken over Twitter. And reports came out that the social media platform will soon charge for the verification badges. To no one’s surprise, it made noise around the world. The UFC world shared their reactions to it as well. Musk’s criticism & ‘Delete Twitter’ movement drew a parallel to the Joe Rogan-Spotify saga that took place earlier this year.

Recently, on the ‘Believe You Me’ podcast, the first-ever British UFC champion, UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping, and a 53-fight MMA veteran, former UFC light heavyweight title challenger Anthony Smith reflected on Musk’s recent Twitter move.
Michael Bisping and Anthony Smith talk about Elon Musk’s upcoming blue badge changes
The MMA practitioners addressed Musk’s step as a way to turn his Twitter purchase into a profit. Later on, the two divulged whether they would, in fact, pay for the blue badges or not.
‘Lion Heart‘ asked Bisping and the ‘Believe You Me’ team, “What do you think this blue checkmark thing with people being able to buy them?”
One of the team members offered Twitter will still use some kind of ID to verify people and called Musk’s move a ‘propaganda tool’ to raise money.
Michael Bisping chimed in and said, “I know these people coming out you know that’s like ‘I’m deleting my Twitter account. It’s that old, ‘my god they gonna use some words that might hurt your feelings’.”
The same member from earlier interrupted Bisping and said, “It’s the same sh** when people were like we are leaving Spotify because Joe Rogan’s on here.”

He further added, “You can say all that sh** but let’s see where you’re after six months.”
Both Bisping and Smith agreed with the Joe Rogan reference.

Earlier, Bisping talked about people criticizing Musk’s free speech movement. He offered that individuals who felt like leaving the platform as lesser censorship would increase crass comments needed to ‘man up’.
Musk overtook Twitter and fired Parag Aggarwal, and Vijaya Gadde, among other high-profile members, in one of his first moves.

Several artists that left the audio streaming giant joined back on the platform. Earlier, they boycotted Spotify, till it removed Joe Rogan. Taking this into account, the UFC Hall of Famer believed this ‘delete Twitter’ thing had no legs as well.
