The emotional connection between Whittaker and his tattoo
In the story, the former Middleweight champion reported that his father got him the popular tattoo on his chest. The tattoo represents ‘southern stars’, Australia’s favorite constellation. The star arrangement is so adored by Australians that it is featured in their flag itself. For Whittaker’s father, it would ground him in his mother country. However, for the 32-year-old fighter, it means much more.
