After devoting himself and putting his body on the line for over two decades inside a steel cage, the UFC veteran Glover Teixeira finally hung up his MMA gloves. What came as a surprise to the MMA community was the saddening announcement that came after his loss at UFC 283. While the Brazilian demonstrated nerves of steel, he still fell short of reclaiming the UFC gold in front of the compatriot crowd. Following the heartfelt speech which accompanied a message to the crowd, the UFC fraternity and the fans alike poured in their support for the admiration of one of the giants of the sport. Similarly, his once rival, Jan Blachowicz, also penned an emotional tribute message to the submission grappler. Further, the Polish fighter also reminded him of the rematch that both promised to each other after their memorable fight at UFC 267.

Notably, the 39-year-old took to Twitter and heaped praise on Teixeira, who also works as an instructor at his own gym- ‘Teixeira MMA & Fitness’. The Connecticut resident had become the oldest champion in UFC history as he made the Polish star tap at UFC 267.
