MMA is a sport we love because of the intense emotions involved. But sometimes, the emotions get a little out of hand. Recently, UFC veteran Jorge Masvidal reacted to an old MMA clip involving a ring girl and a fighter who just saw red.

Masvidal is an experienced fighter and has seen been around the MMA world for a long time, but even he was left shocked by what the MMA fighter did!

Jorge Masvidal was shocked upon seeing the viral clip

The aforementioned clip is from a 2016 match between U.S fighters Farkhad Sharipov and Andrew Whitney. Surprisingly, the actual fight between the fighters was less memorable than what happened immediately after the match ended. This event took place at Titan FC 42 in Coral Gables, Florida.

Andrew “The Beast” Whitney had a good chance of winning the match. He went toe to toe against “Frank” for 5 fierce rounds. However, the judges scored the close match in favor of Farkhad Sharipov.

“Beast” was looking forward to claiming the victory, but could not contain his disappointment upon seeing it go the way of his opponent.

The MMA fighter, upon hearing the announcement, got visibly frustrated. He had to vent that out. He wanted to punch the air, but his fist accidentally connected with the ring girl standing behind him.

Jorge “Gamebred” Masvidal was taken aback by the clip. He shared it on Facebook writing, “He thought he won but when the judges read his opponent as the victor… The Ring Card Girl’s Jaw 👊💥 gets shattered in 3 places… 😲”

The Aftermath of the punch

Thankfully, Jeff Aaronson, CEO of Titan Fighting Championship, later confirmed that doctors attended to the woman and declared her to be unharmed. She also understood that the jab was completely unintentional.

Jeff Aronson, Titan Fighting Championship CEO, said, “We have spoken with Andrew Whitney and his management and are taking appropriate actions to make sure this unforeseen event is not repeated.”

This is the nature of the job, where there is a small chance of getting exposed to risks. The ring girl definitely took it sportively and didn’t let her get affected by this.
