UFC lightweight Beneil Dariush is all set to fight Islam Makhachev at the UFC Fight Night on February 26th, 2022. Currently, both the fighters are training as well as promoting the fight. Additionally, Khabib Nurmagomedov is also helping his close friend and long-time training partner. Both the fighters live and train at the Eagles MMA club in Dagestan, Russia.

During an interview, Nurmagomedov talked about Islam Makhachev getting a ‘double bonus’ if he finishes Beneil Dariush by UFC. This statement caught the eye of the 3rd ranked lightweight. He touched on this topic during his virtual sit-down with ESPN’s Brett Okamoto.

Dariush stated, “I think maybe he’s trying to do a little bit of a drama show like when he talks about the contract and how Islam is getting a bonus to finish me and stuff like that. I feel like he’s throwing little digs in there, which in reality I think is funny because I was gonna joke. I was like man, I’m gonna call Ali and tell him, Listen, Ali, give me Khabib’s number.”

Beneil Dariush is looking for the title shot

Beneil Dariush is on a 7 win streak, that has caught a lot of eyeballs. But according to him, his personality outside the octagon isn’t beneficial in selling pay-per-views. However, if he wins his next fight against Islam, his probability of becoming the no.1 contender is pretty high.
