Many tout Khamzat Chimaev to be a champion soon in the UFC. He is unbeaten in his fighting career, be it in wrestling or mixed martial arts. ‘Borz’ is always eager to fight and willing to fight anyone, anytime.

The Swede started his professional MMA journey in 2018. And after going 6-0, he signed with the UFC and made his debut in 2020. Since then, he has only raised his stock with every fight.

He seemingly looks unstoppable and has finished three of his four fights in the first round. He last entered the octagon at UFC 267 and put in a masterclass against Li Jingliang to enter the welterweight rankings.

The number 11 ranked welterweight is highly skilled and seems to be extremely tough. And according to his training partner and UFC fighter, Alexander Gustafsson, it is because of his dedication to the sport.

In a recent interview, when asked if Chimaev’s dedication stands out, he said, “Because I met a lot of MMA athletes and fighters and all of that and he stands out, for sure. Because of his dedication, because he out trains everybody. It’s nobody who trains like him, nobody. I haven’t seen it. I’ve been around the world seeing fighters train and having their camps and training for fights. This guy, he doesn’t get tired. He doesn’t feel any pain, just go through it.”

That’s high praise coming from a fighter who is also known for his work ethic. Chimaev might soon be able to challenge for the title as he and Gilbert Burns have verbally agreed to fight. If that fight goes through and he wins, it will be hard to deny ‘Borz’ the title fight.

Alexander Gustafsson wants to fight soon

‘The Mauler’, a former three-time light heavyweight title challenger and a fan favorite, wants to return to fighting soon.  He always brings his best inside the octagon and the fans tune in to watch him fight. However, he is currently on a three-fight losing skid and hasn’t fought since July 2020. The Swede last entered the octagon against Fabricio Werdum in the heavyweight division and lost via submission in the first round.

In a recent interview, while talking about when he plans to return, he said, “Let’s see what’s going on. We’re talking to the UFC a lot and I want to fight early this year. And basically, take it from there. I want to make up for the Werdum fight. I feel like I didn’t really get into that fight. He did a great job, doing what he was supposed to do, and I feel like I need to do stuff.”
