McGregor suffered a second straight defeat inside the UFC Octagon last weekend at UFC 264 against Dustin Poirier. Despite having a promising start McGregor suffered a gruesome leg injury at the end of the round. The Irishman’s ankle break meant the fight had to be stopped at the end of the first round.
Paul believes if McGregor doesn’t bounce back from recent adversity, the idea of fighting him won’t be lucrative enough anymore. “Yeah, like, I think it’d still be dope, right? He’s still one of the biggest names in the business, but he’s a loser. I want to fight winners, I want I want to fight, you know, and increase increase the level of my opponent. So you know, if he just keeps on losing, and I just keep on winning, then it might not make sense anymore,” said Paul in a recent interview.
Is Jake Paul right in his assessment about Conor McGregor?
Despite his loss, McGregor remains the biggest draw in the fight business. Also, his recent defeats have been only against the world’s very best. It would be harsh to judge him on his last fight as the injury was nothing but a freak occurrence.

There is no doubt Paul would grasp the opportunity of fighting McGregor if presented. But it’s unlikely he would get that chance anytime soon. McGregor is determined to get his win back against Poirier and is expected to take on the Louisiana native for the fourth time once he is fully fit to return to action.
