Anderson Silva has been pretty clear about his upcoming fight against Uriah Hall being his last inside the octagon. Earlier, Silva appeared alongside ESPN journalist Ariel Helwani and stated that his next fight would be his last. However, a lot would depend on the result.

Despite such a stellar record and a middleweight title reign, which continues to remain unparalleled even after almost a decade, ‘The Spider’ is not someone who likes to come out in front of the media.

Speaking about the same, Silva’s long-time rival and former middleweight contender Chael Sonnen shared his thoughts on the 45-year-old’s increasing appearances in the mainstream media.

He said, “This is Anderson’s last fight. So, Dana came at him to talk about Anderson’s contract. He has two fights left in the UFC. The way I understand it, Dana was kind of like, ‘we are done.” And Anderson goes, ‘I don’t want to be done. I’ve got a contract.’ Then he goes, ‘Let me meet you in the middle, I don’t want you to fight again, and you want to. How about we do one more? Meet in the middle, do one more.”
‘The Spider’ has been doing everything he can to hype up his upcoming fight. This has led to a lot of speculations about what lies ahead for arguably one of the greatest mixed martial artist of all time.

Chael Sonnen feels Anderson Silva is not retiring
The upcoming UFC Fight Night headliner has been marketed as Silva’s last fight. However, he feels otherwise. The former middleweight champion has repeatedly stated that while it could be his last fight inside the UFC octagon, he is far from done. Sonnen picked up the same idea as he claimed that Silva may not be retiring after all.
“A lot of attention around this being Anderson’s last fight. That’s not what Anderson has said. Anderson has come out, he’s on a lot of media. He’s been clear,… ‘this is my last fight in the UFC.’ He has been very clear to put those three little letters there. Then he had his coach come out, and that trainer made it very clear, …’ He’s not done fighting. He is fired up. He’s got the energy. He’s in the gym every day.’

He continued, “I don’t know if he is going trying to go out into free agency, I don’t know if it’s a cash grab,… I don’t know, I do know that I am right when I bring to you that…this is not his last fight, but this is his last fight in the UFC.”
