Dana White was in shock after UFC 281, as most of us were. But, he gave some news about the upcoming heavyweight championship fights. The UFC Boss confirmed that Jon Jones will be the next heavyweight contender coming out of retirement. Most of the community expected him to fight Stipe Miocic, who’s currently on a hiatus from the Octagon. Is it a temporary break or does he truly have no intention of returning to the Octagon?

The UFC Boss also spoke about current Heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou’s controversial contract squabbles.

Dana White said Stipe Miocic might or might not come back

The MMA promoter had some trouble getting his point across regarding Stipe Miocic at the UFC 281 post-match presser with a reporter. When confronted by the reporter with the loaded question regarding Stipe Miocic’s retirement, The UFC president said, “Yeah maybe he won’t fight, maybe he will. I don’t know.”

The reporter wanted to squeeze a definitive answer from the president regarding the 40-year-old Heavyweight fighter. He asked, “Media was saying that Stipe might never fight again?”

The question fazed White, who responded, “I don’t know. That’s true. He might…”

The reporter interpreted the president’s reply to confirm the news. “He doesn’t wanna fight no more?”. But, the President got offended by the reporter trying to speak on his behalf and said, “No, I didn’t say that! You said that!”

“I see where this is f*cking going.”

Dana White refused to comment further on Stipe Miocic’s return to the Octagon. But seemed to know that getting him back won’t be that easy and pushed it to a later date.

The UFC president is in no rush to deal with Francis Ngannou’s contract situation

Meanwhile, the president also addressed Francis Ngannou’s latest comments after announcing his next fight against Jon Jones. The president confirmed “I think that Jon Jones will be the next fight at heavyweight.” and announced he will fight against “Hopefully, Francis” the current heavyweight champion.

But, when confronted about his contract, he said “I don’t know how that’s gonna play out. Listen, we’ve been very patient in this whole thing.”
