Teixeira faced Hill in the main event of UFC 283 in the Jeunesse Arena and went to war for five straight rounds. In a battle of grit and resilience, Hill came out on top as he beat the hometown fighter to take the vacant throne of the 205 lbs division.
The 43-year-old veteran Teixeira came into the fight, losing only one out of his last 5. The only loss came from his title defense against Jiri Prochazka. Hill entered the octagon with a three-fight win streak and four wins in his previous five outings.
