Gilbert Burns would love to get his name back on the winner’s column after his recent defeat to Kamaru Usman. Now Burns is all set to take on his next challenge against ‘Wonder Boy’ Stephen Thompson. This is the co-main event showdown at UFC 264 between two top-five welterweights. It is expected to be closed quarter combat but after ‘Durinho’s’ hair cut fans are having second thoughts about the Brazilian.
History has it that whenever a fighter gets a haircut on a UFC embedded episode he or she end up losing the fight. A haircut or even going to the barbershop in UFC embedded is considered as a jinx in the MMA community.

Unluckily for Gilbert Burns, he could end up as the next victim of the curse. In the second episode of UFC embedded ‘Durinho’ can be seen getting a haircut. It happed in between when Burns was getting ready to leave his residence in Florida for his fight in Las Vegas. For now, it’s unclear whether the Brazilian did it intentionally, or he was unaware of the curse.
Famous Fighters who were cursed before Gilbert Burns
Max Holloway fell for the curse when he visited the barbershop in the fifth UFC embedded episode. It happened before his featherweight title bout against Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 245. The curse broke Holloway’s 14 fight win streak in the featherweight division.

‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor proved why people living in the twenty-first century should not believe in superstitions. He got a haircut in the sixth episode of UFC 178 before his featherweight clash against Dustin Poirier. McGregor won the fight by a knockout in the very first round.
