Jiri Prochazka was initially scheduled to fight former champion Jamahal Hill before ‘Sweet Dreams’ had to vacate the title due to an Achilles injury. However, he was then pitted against Alex Pereira, to whom he lost at UFC 295. Hill was there in attendance at Madison Square Garden to witness the main event fight. As such, Joe Rogan mentioned to ‘Poatan’ after his win that he would have to fight ‘Sweet Dreams’ next, and Adesanya dropped his two cents on how that fight would end.
Israel Adesanya took to Instagram and shared a story from a post on Threads. He quoted what seemed like his brother David Adesanya had to say, and stated that he had already knocked out Alex Pereira once. Similarly, Adesanya also mentioned that the new light heavyweight champion would suffer the same fate when he fights Jamahal Hill.

“Izzy put him to sleep, Jamal gonna give him sweet dreams – David A,” said the former middleweight champion. In addition to that Isreal Adesanya also issued a response to the callout from Alex Pereira. Let’s take a look at that front.
Adesanya responds to Pereira’s call out
It seems like Alex Pereira still has a score to settle with Israel Adesanya. It became apparent when the first person he called out for a fight after his light heavyweight title win was his former rival. As such, ‘The Last Stylebender’ believes that he is still in the Brazilian’s head since the KO loss at UFC 287. In another story on Instagram, Adesanya said, “Lol rent free… I sleep good.”

However, when it came to responding to the light heavyweight title fight callout, Israel Adesanya did not seem too interested. He shared a picture of a knocked-out Alex Pereira and issued a response on Twitter (X). He urged ‘Poatan’ to forget about fighting him again since the Nigerian-born Kiwi fighter had already stated his decision to rest till 2027. “Let it gooooo,” said the former 2-time middleweight champion.
Although Israel Adesanya had declined to fight Alex Pereira for a third time, things can always change in the future. Meanwhile, ‘Poatan’ is probably going to fight Jamahal Hill when the former champion returns from injury. It remains to be seen what Adesanya decides to do after suffering an upset loss to Sean Strickland at UFC 293.
