The combat sports world is a crazy place. Here, transitions often happen with fighters shifting from one combat sport to another. Fighters also grace combat rings of other sports while being active in their current one. The Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor bout was the trendsetter for these types of bouts between opponents with combat skills in different sports.

Since then, the famous YouTuber turned boxer, Jake Paul, has followed the path of the Mayweather-McGregor showdown, calling out mostly the retired MMA fighters as his opponents in the boxing ring.

To date, Jake Paul has had no fights with any professional boxer, but he keeps on increasing his records by calling retired MMA fighters to the boxing ring and knocking them out. A video of him was published by the MMA covering Instagram page, ‘MMA Uncensored’. It showcased Paul in a casual training session with one of the most noted fighters of UFC, Jorge ‘Gamebred’ Masvidal.

Fans chose to deride the Jake Paul and Jorge Masvidal video

‘MMA Uncensored’ captioned this video, “Jake Paul called out Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz last night after his win over Anderson Silva. Who would have a better shot at KO’ing Jake?”

But the fans decided to answer the question asked by ‘MMA Uncensored’ a bit differently. Most of them went on to mock Jake Paul for choosing mostly retired MMA fighters as his opponents.

One follower recognized this video to be an old one. He stated, “This video older than my grandma”. His sarcasm definitely demanded a few laughs. Another fan wrote, “Let’s just get Tyson fury in there , he said anyone anytime let’s see that”. Paul had boasted after knocking out Tyron Woodley that he was ready to fight anyone, anytime and anywhere. This fan just wanted a test of Paul’s words.

Another one was clearly not having Paul’s idea of fighting people from MMA inside the boxing ring. He commented, “Box a boxer or have an mma fight with an mma fighter, getting mad sick of all this.”

One more follower had no idea what this training session was about. He wrote, “Wtf were those punches”

Some of the followers also chose to deride Masvidal. One of them wrote, “Jorge is a gangster but hangs out with YouTubers?”. A few others also continued with this tone, commenting, “Didn’t Masvidal start as a boxer?” and “Jorge a sellout”.

Another follower of ‘MMA Uncensored’ went logical with his comment as he wrote, “This “Make-a-Wish” Kid will call out anyone he can pay to take a dive…and they say $$ can’t buy happiness”.

One of the followers actually bothered to answer the question. He wrote, “Maybe it’s me but Masvidal makes it a more competitive fight than Nate Diaz and it’s hard to admit because I love Nate and dislike Masvidal.”

Additionally, one fan also came up with his own theory and commented, “all these dramas are scripted”.
