Robert Whittaker, the former UFC Middleweight Champion, proved he’s still a middleweight contender with a dominant performance last night. He starched Ikram Aliskerov with a first-round knockout in the main event of UFC on ABC 6. The fight was so impressive, that it even caught the attention of UFC commentator Joe Rogan.

Unsurprisingly, Rogan impressed by Whittaker’s dominant display, discussed the fight with his buddies on his podcast, ‘The Joe Rogan Experience.’ They probably watched the fight live and even started throwing around names for Whittaker’s next opponent, someone who might even give the Israel Adesanya, a run for his money.

Joe Rogan believes Whittaker will face Israel Adesanya’s nightmare

After his originally scheduled opponent, Khamzat Chimaev, pulled out of UFC ABC 6, Robert Whittaker didn’t hesitate to take on a new challenge: Dagestani Ikram Aliskerov. And the former champion proved his decision right as he surged forward with a deadly combination, including a brutal uppercut that crumpled Aliskerov. ‘The Reaper’ was ready to pounce for more, but referee Marc Goddard stepped in to stop the fight.

After watching Whittaker’s dominant performance, Joe Rogan and his crew- Bryan Callen, Brenden Schaub, and Brian Simpson, started brainstorming potential opponents. Initially, they focused on the winner of the upcoming Israel Adesanya vs. Dricus du Plessis fight at UFC 305. But then Brenden Schaub threw out a curveball, suggesting Sean Strickland.

Rogan seemed intrigued by the idea. “I wouldn’t be upset if Strickland versus him. The main event for pay-per-view, right? And you can’t hit Strickland like that. He’s not there, tough. He’s standing up like this, he’s moving. He gets hit less than anybody. He’s so hard to,remarked Joe Rogan during the live via JRE YouTube handle.

Furthermore, Brian Simpson chimed in, surprised that Israel Adesanya wouldn’t necessarily pick Strickland next. He pointed out the bad blood between them, mentioning Strickland’s shocking win over Adesanya at UFC 293. This wouldn’t be the first time Whittaker got Rogan’s attention, though. Robert Whittaker even left the comedian speechless with an uppercut during the fight.

Joe Rogan’s reaction to Whittaker’s quick KO of Aliskerov

UFC commentator and comedian Joe Rogan can’t resist calling the fights, even when he’s not officially on commentary duty. A recent video surfaced showing Rogan providing his commentary on the Robert Whittaker vs. Aliskerov main event from the last night, all while recording a JRE podcast episode with his friends, including former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub.

In a clip uploaded to his social media by Brendan Schaub, Joe Rogan was fired up, celebrating Robert Whittaker’s victory. Rogan blasted out, “Let’s go, Robert Whittaker. F**k yeah!….Did it in the first round…He’s a bad man…’boby Knickle’s still torching people!” Afterward, Khamzat Chimaev also congratulated ‘The Reaper’ telling him he would be back for him while also advising Ikram Aliskerov to keep his head up.
