Former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya has caught the attention of his fans once again. The 33-year-old, who is stepping back inside the cage on 9th April, recently took the time to visit a comedy show by the legendary Dave Chappelle. Following this, Adesanya tweeted about meeting Chappelle and even mentioned being star-struck at the interaction. Considering that the 49-year-old comedian is regarded as a legend amongst his peers, ‘Stylebender’s reaction to it was quite natural.

Evidently, fans also found it interesting that the superstar MMA fighter claimed to be awestruck at the meeting. In response, many of Adesanya‘s supporters tweeted the UFC fighter, even calling it a meeting of the GOATs. Ultimately, all the responses served as a small reflection of people’s admiration for the duo.

Adesanya‘s tweet made it quite obvious that the 33-year-old was indeed a fan of the stand-up legend. Interestingly, Chappelle is also close associates with UFC commentator Joe Rogan, who himself is an established stand-up comedian as well. Fans in the reaction were also quick to point that out.

Adesanya‘s original tweet read: “Just met Dave Chappelle and now we cool…I’m starstruck!!! Yes I am!!!”

After suffering a fifth-round loss to Alex Pereira and subsequently losing his middleweight belt, the city kickboxing representative is now gearing up for yet another fight with the Brazilian. The duo, meant to face each other at UFC 287, have fought thrice earlier, once inside the UFC octagon and twice in a kickboxing match. Interestingly, Pereira has beaten Adesanya all three times, serving as some sort of Kryptonite for the former champ.

While he prepares for a very crucial fight in his career, Adesanya has kept his spirits high, despite the last loss to Pereira. His confidence during interviews also seems undeterred, even matching the levels that he maintained as a champ.
