Michael Chandler challenges Conor McGregor to fight at 170 lbs
Most MMA fighters have a higher walk-around weight before beginning their training. During fight season, they cut weight in order to be able to fight for their respective weight divisions. Speaking about this, Chandler threw in a riddle on Twitter and challenged Conor McGregor to fight him at 170 lbs.
He wrote, “Riddle me this: Two welterweights were in the main event of #ufc268. But two lightweights started the card. 72 hours removed from #ufc268, one of those lightweights who started the card weighed more than of all them. Over 191lbs just 72 hours later. #seeyouat170mcgregor.”

Chandler’s walk-around weight is much higher than that of the division he competes in. He gained quite a lot of weight just a few days after his UFC 268 fight.

McGregor has competed in welterweight, featherweight, and lightweight divisions. Chandler seems to want to move up a division to fight McGregor as it is closer to his walk-around weight. However, McGregor has already fought great fights in the welterweight division. So, it might be a tough fight for Chandler to win.
Perhaps Chandler wants to be at his very best for a bout against McGregor. If this fight were to happen at 170 lbs, it could be a very dangerous one. Fans definitely hope to see a violent KO in the fight between Chandler and McGregor, regardless of the decided weight.
