Dustin Poirier got involved in a Twitter battle with Conor McGregor. ‘The Diamond’ has been fighting a bacterial infection called staph infection. He has updated fans about his health condition regularly. While fans prayed for Poirier’s speedy recovery. Arch-enemy Conor McGregor found the time suitable for poking some insults and banter at Poirier.

As the fighters took digs at each other, the Twitter battle heated. Nate Diaz, however, opened a third front in the online war and took on both McGregor and Poirier. In an unexpected turn, Conor McGregor‘s mate from his Irish gym, Johnny Walker, commented on the Instagram post by ESPN MMA.

The Twitter battle saw Conor McGregor making fun of Poirier’s illness. He had called Poirier‘s infection “Gonorrhea” and said Poirier was a “Goner“. In response, Poirier accused McGregor of steroid abuse. The dig from Poirier seemed to further infuriate McGregor who involved Poirier’s wife in the spat.

Nate Diaz also got involved in the battle. The Stockton fighter took on both McGregor and Poirier. He tweeted, “You both get knocked out all the time.” Fans know Nate Diaz for not shying away from a fight. Also, he is often involved in scuffles, both online and in real life.

Johnny Walker, commenting on the Instagram Post shared by ESPN MMA with a collage of the Twitter battle and comments from all three fighters, Walker wrote, “Nate is the best” adding three laughing emojis in the beginning; the news might not please McGregor.

Was Conor McGregor betrayed by his gym partner?

Johnny Walker lives in Ireland and trains with Conor McGregor at the same gym. His comments praising Nate Diaz may not be exactly in line with what McGregor might expect out of him. Walker fights in the Light Heavyweight division in the UFC. He has a career record that reads 19-7-0.

Johnny Walker is of Brazilian origin. He is a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He has been training with John Kavanagh for grappling techniques. Walker had said that he was getting better and more comfortable with each passing day while talking to a media agency.

Johnny Walker‘s siding with Nate Diaz in an online banter may not be a serious issue for fans; however, McGregor may not take it so easy. The Irish brat is known for wearing his heart on his sleeve. ‘The Notorious’ has had a beef with Poirier and Diaz. It will remain to be seen if the online interactions will bring a change in the relations between Conor McGregor and Johnny Walker.
