Israel Adesanya is currently basking in the glory of his triumphant reclamation of the middleweight belt. Not only did he regain the championship, but he also achieved a momentous victory over his long-standing arch-rival, Alex Pereira, marking his first-ever win against him. As the world applauds Adesanya’s remarkable achievements, fans eagerly await news of his next fight, which is yet to be announced. However, amidst the anticipation, Jorge Masvidal has proposed an extraordinary clash involving ‘The Last Stylebender’.

After a grueling battle against Gilbert Burns at UFC 287, ‘Gamebred’ chose to bid adieu to the sport that had been his life for two decades. Recognizing that it was time for a new chapter, the 38-year-old decided to hang up his gloves and turn his attention to the world of promotional frontmanship. And recently during an event, the former BMF Champion proposed the idea of a matchup that promises to break barriers by having ‘Izzy’ in it.

When asked to hypothetically put up a fight, eliminating any boundaries of the promotions, Jorge Masvidal made a bold proposal for a bare-knuckle fight involving the current middleweight champion Israel Adesanya.

The 38-year-old ex-UFC fighter said, “Just because he is my partner, I tell the whole world that he is the best middleweight that’s ever lived. And he’s currently in the No. 1 middleweight in the world, Johnny Eblen. I take him and I put him in there against like Israel Adesanya… Because Izzy, bare knuckle, would blow the roof up. Izzy [and] bare knuckle would be illegal, you know. So, I’d love to put a fight like that, you know.”

Further detailing the fight, Masvidal added, “No gloves. That would be like my, one of my dream fights.”

Stripped of the protection that gloves offer, a bare-knuckle bout brings an entirely different level of intensity and rawness to the sport. It harkens back to the early days of combat sports when fighters engaged in brutal battles with nothing but their bare hands.

Having said that, Israel Adesanya is rumored to be in line to face the winner of the highly anticipated matchup between Robert Whittaker and Dricus du Plessis. While speculation is rife about this potential clash, the official announcement is yet to be made, leaving fans eagerly awaiting confirmation.
