Drew Dober is known for his aggressive striking. With a heavy emphasis on punches and kicks, he has knockout power in both hands. He is also proficient in grappling with a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Dober is currently ranked #14 in the lightweight division. He is on a three-win streak and is now close to having a fight with Paddy Pimblett. The 34-year-old has tweeted about the possibility of him taking on ‘The Baddy’ later this year. Pimblett is yet to confirm the fight. However, the possibilities have sent fans into a frenzy who were really excited to see Paddy Pimblett in action.

The Liverpudlian fighter was last seen against Jared Gordon in the UFC cage at UFC 282, where he won by decision. Fans will be excited to see him back in the cage. Drew Dober has expressed optimism about the chances of him being against Pimblett at UFC 288. He tweeted “We working on some big things this year.” Fans have reacted to the Twitter post now.

Fans have reacted to the Dober‘s tweet and the potential match-up between the two fighters.

A fan who thought Drew Dober could take a lot of hits from Pimblett commented, “Dober’s got a chin you would see in Family Guy”. 

Another fan felt Paddy Pimblett had the opportunity to go against a ranked fighter. The user commented, “He can’t keep fighting unranked guys forever, I can see him taking this fight”

Fans looked at the opinion that ‘The Baddy’ will find it hard to go against Dober. A fan said, “An early birthday gift for me. Watching the hype trail get derailed. Perfect.”

There were some other fans who thought the fight had the potential to be a great match-up. But UFC middleweight Chris Curtis was of the Opinion that Paddy Pimblett won’t take up the fight.

Pimblett needs to go through a Litmus test

Pimblett made his UFC debut on September 4, 2021, at UFC Fight Night: Brunson vs. Till, where he faced Luigi Vendramini in a lightweight bout. Pimblett won the fight via first-round knockout, earning a ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus for his impressive UFC debut. He has not fought a ranked fighter yet in the UFC.

Dober, on the other hand, made his UFC debut on May 25, 2013, at UFC 161, where he lost to Nick Hein via a unanimous decision. Since then, he has fought many notable fighters in the lightweight division, including Beneil Dariush, Islam Makhachev, and Nasrat Haqparast. He was last seen against Bobby Green in December 2022. Paddy Pimblett will be an excellent opportunity for him as well.
