It goes without saying that the UFC has become one of the biggest sports organizations in the world. Given how far the UFC has progressed and how well-known the name is, MMA has come to be associated with the UFC. And all credit goes to one man, Dana White. The UFC stands on his shoulders alone. And it is absolutely mind-boggling to see what he has done with the UFC. It’s beyond comprehension for many. And Marvel supervillain, Frank Grillo, feels exactly the same.

Frank Grillo was the guest on Paddy Pimblett‘s podcast, ‘Chattin Pony‘, where the actor talked about his admiration for Dana White.
Frank Grillo is in absolute awe of Dana White
During the ‘Chattin Pony‘ podcast, Frank Grillo and Paddy Pimblett got into talking about the evolution of Jiu-Jitsu and things related topics. Following that, Pimblett asked the 57-year-old actor what difference he sees in UFC when it started versus how it is now. Grillo responded by expressing his utter appreciation for UFC president Dana White and the work he has accomplished. “You know, I can honestly say that watching what the UFC has turned into, I think Dana White, I think he’s, you know, he’s controversial. I think he’s a genius. He is the man.” said Frank Grillo.
Grillo continued, “He is from my money. You know, people talk about Bill Gates and Elon Musk. I think you gotta mention in that conversation because what he has done in creating the UFC, I mean, UFC is ubiquitous with MMA, right? I mean that’s… that’s it.” And Grillo certainly has a point there. White has made the UFC what it is today and is responsible for the global recognition it has.
No Dana means No UFC
Frank Grillo also acknowledged the fact that White kept the sport alive during the time of Covid when most companies were on the verge of shutting down their businesses. The actor stated, “The way he kept it going during Covid. And I know that the Fertitta Brothers wanted to collapse it. Fought 10 times, they wanted to shut it down. And he kept that thing alive. This guy had a vision. He saw something that no one else saw.”

Grillo further added, “And you know it’s amazing that he only has 24 hours in a day, because what that guy can accomplish is amazing. So, hats off Dana White.” He also mentioned one strong fact about the UFC: “And without that one guy, there is no… imagine this, without Dana White, there’s never any such thing as the UFC.”

Agreeing with what Frank Grillo said, Paddy Pimblett also had something to add to the appreciation of the UFC president. Pimblett said, “I love the comparison when people say Dana’s like Vince McMahon. Because Vince built the WWE up on his own back, you know what I mean. Dana has done the same with the UFC. He’s built the whole organization up on his own back.”
