Jon Anik has had a rough past week. The famous UFC commentator went candid on his podcast and ended up in controversy. In fact, many fans became rather upset with Anik for his comments on the negativity of the MMA community. What was the big deal?

After UFC 297, fans were in fumes, as is the case for just about any UFC event. Sometimes, a close fight, like Sean Strickland vs. Dricus Du Plessis leaves the entire fandom divided. When Anik became upset with the negativity online, many people came to his aid. Fan favorite Nina-Marie Daniele was one of them.

‘Nina Drama’ has been associated with MMA and the UFC for quite some time now. Her wholesome and funny videos with Sean Strickland are fan favorites. Nevertheless, that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have to deal with online negativity herself.

Jon Anik first admitted being “tired” of the MMA scene and its toxicity. When the commentator realized that he upset some fans, he ended up sending out an apology. “To those MMA fans whom I’ve offended, I am sorry. That was not my intention,” wrote Anik.

He shared the written post on Instagram and that would attract a lot of fans. It also had Nina-Marie Daniele come to extend her support for the veteran commentator, who was uncertain of his future within the UFC.

She also pointed out that Anik shouldn’t have to leave his much-loved job because people in the comment section want him to. It was an interesting reflection of the MMA community as a whole. From Belal Muhammad to Jorge Masvidal and Tom Aspinall. While Muhammad told Anik that he was “the man” Aspinall called him “the best of the best”. Clearly, ‘Nina Drama’ isn’t the only one who’s got the veteran commentator’s back. Gilbert Burns too stood behind Anik a legend on the desk. Dustin Poirier, on the other hand, asked Anik to be as vocal as he’d like to be by asking him to “preach”.

Previously, even his co-star, Joe Rogan has called Anik the absolute best to ever do it in the history of the UFC. So there’s little to no debate. Some fans were upset and yes, their favorite former champion Sean Strickland took their side asking Anik to find a better place at the NFL instead. However, the commentator did not respond to ‘Tarzan’.
