Publicly Supporting Alexander Volkanovski, Joe Rogan Drops 2-Word Response for Islam Makhachev Fight at UFC 284

Alexander Volkanovski is an absolute warrior. After defeating the man who would be considered the featherweight GOAT if not for him, Max Holloway three times, and becoming by far the greatest UFC featherweight ever, he did not rest on his laurels.
Instead, ‘Alexander The Great’ moved up a weight class to take on the indomitable Islam Makhachev. It was his chance to become only the sixth consecutive double-champion in the UFC. And while he may have lost, he gained a lot of respect from UFC fans, and Joe Rogan in particular. And Rogan revealed exactly what he thought of their UFC 294 rematch after Charles Oliveira pulled out of the main-event title bout in the UAE on October 21.

Like all UFC fans, UFC commentator and JRE podcast host Joe Rogan is hyped for the much-awaited rematch between Alex Volkanovski and Islam Makhachev. Makhachev and Volkanovski went to war in an exciting and electrifying lightweight bout at UFC 284. Makhachev won via unanimous decision at the end of the scheduled five rounds.

‘Volk’, however, was hailed for his excellent performance and for holding his own against the Dagestani. Especially on the ground, where the lightweight champion excels. Many felt that Volkanovski won the fight, as he outstruck Makhachev by quite a margin. So, it is no wonder that Rogan is excited for the rematch.

The Texas resident took to Instagram and posted a poster for the new UFC 294 main event bout between Makhachev and Volkanovski, along with a clip of Dana White announcing the bout a few hours ago. “OH SH**” he captioned the post.

What did Rogan say about the UFC 284 Makhachev-Volkanovski bout
Joe Rogan spoke about the bout on a recent episode of his podcast. The Boston native stated he believed Alexander Volkanovski defeated Islam Makhachev in the fight. He had scored the bout to be 3-2 in favor of Volkanovski. He felt that Volkanovski should be the UFC’s pound-for-pound king.

Rogan felt that the Australian did more damage to Makhachev. And the latter had imposed his skillset and revealed “vulnerabilities” in the Dagestani’s game in their epic encounter. And Volkanovski will have another opportunity to become double-champion against one of the greatest 155-pound fighters ever ten days from now. Not to mention the courage and self-confidence it must take to fight in one of the biggest fights of his career on short notice on Volkanovski’s part.
