‘Quit Being a Lil Bit**’- Nate Diaz Trashes Dustin Poirier for Turning Down the Offer to Fight Him

UFC lightweight stars Dustin Poirier and Nate Diaz continue their ongoing war of words on Twitter and fans can’t get enough. Both men have been in talks to fight each other ever since their original booking fell out at UFC 230. Since then, both Diaz and Poirier have become even bigger stars and a potential bout between them could be massive.
Poirier recently call-out Nate Diaz and the Stockton native didn’t take long to respond. However, Nate Diaz’s response implied that Poirier’s initial call-out was nothing more than a smoke-screen. Diaz insinuated that Poirier publically called out Diaz but turned down the fight behind closed doors. Safe to say Dustin Poirier wasn’t too happy with such a narrative.

Match-making for marquee UFC fighters can be an uphill task as it’s hard to get everyone on the same page. Negotiations involving elite talent usually take multiple sit-downs and even then the fight talks may fall through. Nate Diaz’s implication was that such an instance took place, and he didn’t shy away from sharing his views.

Nate Diaz has shown that he can compete with the very best and even possibly swipe someone else’s title shot. When he faced Leon Edwards at UFC 263, Diaz almost secured a late KO/TKO and could potentially be ranked inside the top 5 of welterweight. He’ll be looking to take Poirier’s place on the mantel if they were to square off.
As for ‘The Diamond’, he’s fresh off two massive money fights with Conor McGregor and undoubtedly has got a taste for the big shows. Despite being virtually guaranteed the next title shot, he has his eye on securing more money fights. Considering his investment into the sport, it’s hard to deny that he doesn’t deserve some massive opportunities.
