A leg kick is an important weapon in a mixed martial artist’s arsenal. There are many variations of the leg kick, each of them as effective as the next. However, while throwing them, a fighter runs the risk of injuring himself in the process.
Fans react to a clip of McGregor-like leg break
Conor McGregor is not the only famous fighter whose leg snapped in the UFC octagon. MMA legend Anderson Silva snapped his leg against the shin of Chris Weidman at UFC 168. As coincidence would have it, Weidman himself suffered the same injury at UFC 261 years later.

Recently, a fan shared a clip of a similar leg break. The horrific injury happened after a clash of legs during the very first exchange of the fight.

One fan observed the fighter’s taped leg and suspected a pre-existing injury.
Dude had it wrapped, wonder if it was already injured. But he didn’t check it, so I’m not surprised tbh
— Diallo (@nikolasdiallo) November 30, 2022
Another fan responded along the same lines.
He probably came into the fight with it already damaged
— Kenric Meese (@KenricMeese) November 30, 2022
One fan wrote how he expected a KO and not the unfortunate ending that occurred.
I thought the tall dude would front kick KO
— Timo (@TimoPlaysTP) November 30, 2022
Similarly, another fan expressed shock at what unfolded.
YO WTF…did not expect that 😫

One fan observed the difference between dramatic oversells in soccer and how the injured fighter showed less agony.
And still the guy is showing less agony than a soccer player who chipped a nail

One fan made a surprising observation about the fighters involved in the bizarre injury.
either Glass bone or hardest kicker in the game 🤨

On a side note, this clip further disproved an inaccurate claim that Conor McGregor made recently. The former double champion has been under suspicion for the use of PEDs to improve the rate of his recovery.
Conor McGregor made a mistaken claim about leg breaks
During a recent Twitter rant, Conor McGregor claimed that only he, Anderson Silva, and Chris Weidman knew the severity of the common injury they suffered. However, the facts disagree with McGregor. The aforementioned three are the most famous cases of leg breaks in the UFC, but several fighters have suffered the same.

A similar leg break happened at UFC: Fight for the Troops in 2008. Corey Hill suffered a disgusting leg break less than a minute into his fight against Dale Hartt. In the same year, late UFC fighter Brian Gassaway saw his opponent José Landi Jons suffer a leg break at TKO 32: Ultimatum.

One of the most infamous horrific leg injuries you will ever see happened outside the UFC. At Cage Quest 1, Justin Lee Fowler slammed opponent Brian Jones Jr. causing his leg to implode. While the other injuries happened near the shin, this one looked closer to the knee.
