UFC Bantamweight superstar, Sean O’Malley gave his take on the biggest UFC superstars to look forward to in 2023. But he dismissed Jorge Masvidal from being a star. Masvidal is an inspirational fighter in the UFC’s welterweight division. The 38-year-old catapulted to worldwide fame after his victory against Darren Till and never looked back again. ‘Gamebred’ started off as a street fighter, with the help of Kevin Ferguson a.k.a Kimbo Slice. He slowly worked his way up the ladder with each fight. However, O’Malley questioned his status among fans. O’Malley feels Masvidal’s claim to fame as being one of the ‘baddest’ welterweight fighters is almost ironic after a string of poor performances.

O’Malley said “Dustin never really became a superstar which is weird…” and spoke about Poirier who never became a bigger star despite playing Conor McGregor 3-times in his career. Many may consider this weird as the Irishman could turn any rival into a superstar with the attention he brings to his fights.

However, O’Malley was more than disappointed in Jorge Masvidal, who never fulfilled his potential. Even after his defeats, fans still expect to see Masvidal back to his winning ways very soon.
