The police arrested Israel Adesanya on 16th November at JFK airport. Adesanya possessed an unusual weapon that led to his arrest. The New Zealand native was not fully aware of the legality of the matter. He recently communicated that the weapon was not his in the first place. But if convicted of the crime, Adesanya is looking at one year of jail time plus fines.

Israel Adesanya might be in big trouble with the NYPD

Israel Adesanya got arrested at JFK airport in New York for allegedly possessing a brass knuckle. According to the statement from his manager, “Israel was handed a gift by a fan, which he put in his luggage. When flagged at the airport, Israel quickly disposed of the item, and cooperated with authorities. He has complied accordingly, with that the matter was dismissed and he is on his way home.” shared Helwani.

However, the police are still investigating this matter. The UFC middleweight fighter might get a desk appearance ticket, or be held in custody by The NYPD.

His common peroneal nerve suffered damage. And Israel Adesanya was unable to recover from it during the fight. In the 5th round, ‘Poatan’ capitalized on this weakness and delivered the final blow to end the fight.

The 33-year-old UFC star might be having the toughest week of his life. As he went to jail, right after losing his middleweight crown.
