Conor McGregor recently announced his comeback to the UFC. Although fans of The Irishman would love to see him trading blows in the Octagon, He wants to stand in the corner instead. Therefore, ‘The Notorious’ announced his decision to coach in the Ultimate Fighter. That job should be easy for McGregor since he has one of the best coaches in John Kavanagh. Because both of them share an intrinsic bond with each other and are best of friends. However, McGregor caused more than a fair share of trouble during their travels over the years. One incident involves him intentionally skipping a massive hotel bill.

Conor McGregor had all the intentions of skipping the bill and sneaking out of a luxury hotel.

The Irish coach shared an incident when McGregor and his friend, Cathal Pendred, forgot to pay their food bills at a hotel. After they realized the huge amount they spent on drinks and food, McGregor and his friend decided to sneak out of the hotel. But the coach advised them against the idea. He wrote, “The lads begged me to let it slide. They had spent so much that it was going to cost them almost everything they had earned from their fights, which was around €1,000 each.” in his book Win or Learn.

However, McGregor thought they would be free and explained “We thought all the food and drink was on the house so me and Cathal were necking pina coladas like there was no tomorrow,” to his coach, John Kavanagh during their cab ride to the airport.

However, Kavanagh was not letting them off the hook so quickly.

Coach Kavanagh took the right call and went back to the hotel

During his time in Cage Warriors, ‘Mystic Mac’ flew with his coach to Jordan for a fight against Aron Jahnsen. His friend and fellow martial artist, Pendred, also stayed with them. Furthermore, this was McGregor’s first fight outside of Ireland, his home country. Therefore, McGregor and his friend guzzled the finest Arabian food on offer, along with multiple drinks.

Therefore, McGregor and his friend had to shell out $1000 each to balance the books in the hotel. However, that amount would probably mean pennies for the $200 million worth Dubliner today.
