Ever since Joe Rogan came out with his ‘sanctioned cheating’ comments against Alex Pereira, the MMA world has been thoroughly consumed by this discussion. Rogan on his podcast talked about the ‘Poatan’ and the size he puts on during fight day.
After the UFC commentator talked about Pereira, several names from the MMA world have come forward with their own opinions. Moreover, even former, two-time UFC title challenger, Chael Sonnen came out sharing his thoughts on the comments made by Rogan on the podcast.

‘The American Gangster’ took to his famous YouTube channel to express his opinion. Meanwhile, the fighter was talking about Pereira when he brought up Rogan’s comments that relate to the Brazilian.
Joe Rogan received a response from Chael Sonnen
Sonnen said, “Rogan came out and said that Pereira’s size is sanctioned cheating. And powerful, very powerful language. And I have heard this type of language before. I would just look and say where. I mean if you’re using words like that, you better be specific where. The rule in all 50 states and jurisdictions abroad say that you must make weight within a window.”
He further added, “You must be below the weight class at a specific time. I know you’re here in America, you’re used to Friday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. Pacific Standard time. There are also rules on how you can rehydrate, and how you can replenish. Were any of those rules broken? And I’m going to have to superpose that no, there’s not even a rumor that they are. Otherwise the world-sanctioned cheating would not apply.”

Sonnen then concluded by questioning if Pereira illegally rehydrated himself. However, that certainly wasn’t the case. Nevertheless, Sonnen was perplexed as to why did Rogan use those words against the current middleweight champion? Even former middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya didn’t agree with what the podcaster said. Izzy was dismissive about the idea of cheating and stated that he was a better fighter. Further stating that he’ll beat Pereira in their rematch.
