The Joe Rogan Experience recently became the no.1 Spotify podcast of 2022. Rogan achieved the honor for the second year in a row. This points to the quality of content that JRE provides. In one of the latest episodes, Rogan talked about Balenciaga and their recent controversy.

In episode #1903 of the JRE, Rogan hosted the stand-up comic, writer, and host of the ‘Can’t Get Right with Kurt Metzger’ podcast, Kurt Metzger. The pair had a three-and-a-half-hour conversation, during which they covered several topics, including Balenciaga.

What did Joe Rogan say about Balenciaga?

Spanish fashion giant, Balenciaga recently came under fire for one of their ad campaigns. In early November 2022, Balenciaga released their adverts for the Spring/Summer 2023 collection. The adverts had controversial images that sparked outrage globally.

During his conversation with Metzger, Rogan mentioned Balenciaga. Metzger commented on Balenciaga cutting ties with Kanye West after his comments. “Well, they disavowed Kanye and then people started, I guess, looking into them. Or maybe, coincidentally, at the same time all this stuff started coming out,” said Rogan.

Rogan also responded to the uproar against Balenciaga. The 55-year-old said, “I have no interest in purses. I hear about Balenciaga and I’m like ‘okay’… They make purses? What do they make?… It’s like high-end fancy sh*t. That sh*t doesn’t mean anything to me.”

The former Fear Factor host dismissed the brand entirely. However, several celebrities slammed them for their recent ad campaign.

Celebrities who blasted Balenciaga

Several celebrities, including UFC fighter Derek Brunson, lashed out against Balenciaga. The middleweight wrote, “Balenciaga y’all full of sh** !!!” Brand ambassador Kim Kardashian also tweeted to comment on the controversy.

The 42-year-old tweeted, “As a mother of four, I have been shaken by the disturbing images. The safety of children must be held with the highest regard and any attempts to normalize child abuse of any kind should have no place in our society — period.” She added the delay in her response was because she was waiting for clarity on the situation.
