“This Is the Worst Feeling in All the World” – Joe Rogan & Daniel Cormier Stand in Solidarity With Israel Adesanya After Heart-Breaking UFC 281 Loss

The UFC 281 came with a major upset for the MMA world. The main event of UFC 281 saw the reigning Middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya, tasting defeat at the hands of his arch-nemesis, Alex Pereira. Although the fight was an entertaining one, still ‘The Last Stylebender’ and his numerous fans received only disappointment after the fight. Adesanya had his moments in the fight. But Pereira completely outmatched him in the fifth round, crowning himself the new UFC Middleweight champion.

The ringside commentators’ Joe Rogan and Daniel Cormier went on a breakdown of the coveted fifth round of the bout. They talked about how Adesanya was caught up in a position where he could do nothing to change the situation of the fight.

The fifth round proved fatal for Israel Adesanya

Joe Rogan started describing the proceedings of the fifth round. He stated, The right hand, the uppercut, and now you got Stylebender and see trouble”. He was referring to Pereira’s brutal strikes, which were making it harder for Adesanya.

Rogan also said that ‘Izzy’ could be seen trying to hang on and get to the buzzer”, but he eventually couldn’t. Rogan had noticed him and stated, “He’s wobbled, he’s hurt, he gets hit with that uppercut and then that left hook. The left hook was it.”

Alex Pereira’s ending blows were actually vicious. Given the stout physique of the Brazilian, the impact of those strikes could be well imagined.

Cormier agreed with Rogan, mentioning, It froze him”. Looking at the slow-motion frames, Rogan further stated, “He’s just trying not to go out here.”

Cormier went on to explain how these moments were disastrous. He iterated, “Joe, I’m telling you right now. This is the worst feeling in the world.”

‘DC’ described that it was absolutely horrible “when you are getting hit in this way and you’re trying to catch your balance, and you’re aware of what’s happening, but you can’t grab’em”. Being a former fighter himself, ‘DC’ definitely realized what ‘Izzy’ was going through.

He also talked about the helplessness of Adesanya at those moments. He stated, You can’t do anything to stop the onslaught”. The ‘former two-weight division champion’ supported the referee’s decision to stop the fight. He presented his opinion, stating, “Adesanya would not have changed it. It would have continued until they stopped the fight. It could have only gotten worse.”
