Tyron Woodley Wishes Good Luck to Colby Covington Ahead of the Kamaru Usman Rematch Fight

Former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley spoke out ahead of his upcoming boxing debut against Jake Paul that takes place in Cleveland. ‘The Chosen One’ was answering fan questions about his fight and he was also asked to chime in on a recent UFC fight announcement. Chiefly, the announcement was regarding Kamaru Usman vs Colby Covington 2 which is set for UFC 268.
The rematch between Usman and Covington has captured everyone’s attention and fans want to know what Woodley thinks. ‘T-Wood’ fought both men in the latter stage of his career and was handed a pair of losses in the bouts. However, Woodley objectively spoke on the contest but failed to provide a definitive prediction for the fans.

“I don’t know, it’s going to be very tough…. Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington fight was very close the first time, I saw that Kamaru Usman dug deep to find a way to get the finish. It was a very close fight before then. But yeah, Kamaru’s been so active, it’s kind of hard to not think that he’s gotten better.
Woodley continued saying, “I’m not saying Colby hasn’t been training but Colby actually said I was going to win this fight with Jake Paul, so I’m going to go neutral on this one. I wish both of those guys the best. I hope they turn up, but on a great fight, a great performance and they both get paid.”
Tyron Woodley is clear that he has no stake in this fight and is simply hoping for the best for his former opponents. Woodley has moved onto a new chapter in his career and isn’t too keen to look into the rearview mirror.

The first clash between both men at UFC 245 was scintillating, and both men engaged in a five-round war. The bout was an immediate candidate for ‘Fight of the Year’ and many believed it deserved that honor.

Both Usman and Covington are A-tier welterweight fighters and they will extensively plan out their game plan for the rematch. There’s a good chance that the second fight will look quite different from the first contest.
