

The first pay-per-view event of the year, UFC 270, will decide the fate of two weight divisions as flyweight champion Brandon Moreno and heavyweight champion go into battle in their first title defense.
The fight card is stacked with multiple interesting fights, one of them being the welterweight bout between Jack Della Maddalena and Pete Rodriguez.

Jack Della Maddalena is a young Aussie prospect who’s making his UFC debut with the first pay-per-view event of the year, UFC 270. The 25-year-old entered UFC after partaking in Dana White‘s contender series in 2021. Credit to his brilliant performances that earned him a contract straight to the UFC.
Pete Rodriguez is a new name in the Mixed Martial Arts scene. The Tucson native will also make his UFC debut with the January 22nd PPV. ‘Dead Game’ has fought all four of his fights under UFC superstar Jorge Masvidal‘s iKON Fighting Federation, where he was a knockout artist with four quick knockouts to his name.
He serves as a replacement for Warlley Alves on eight days’ notice.

Jack Della Maddalena has a total of 12 professional fights under his name, in which he has a 10-2 record. Maddalena tasted both of his defeats early in his career and has been winning ever since. He is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Ange Loosa in September.

Pete Rodriguez is quite new to the MMA scene. Fans are yet to see him perform on a big stage and learn about him. With that said, all 4 of ‘Dead Game’s bouts have ended up with him getting his hands raised. Plus, all of his wins have been finishes.

UFC 270: Jack Della Maddalena vs. Pete Rodriguez: Analysis
Although Rodriguez is a young and promising prospect, it is doubtful if he’ll be able to match a boxer with the caliber of Maddalena in a fight. Maddalena is a striker who connects 7.20 significant strikes in a minute with a 47% accuracy.

Not counting out the probability of Rodriguez swinging the bout his way with a precise strike, it is certainly Maddalena’s fight to win.
