Charles Oliveira is without a doubt the best lightweight fighter in the UFC right now. His Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is absolutely unmatched, and he has used it to make his way to the lightweight title. Oliveria won the title earlier this year after he defeated Michael Chandler at UFC 262. He also defended his title splendidly against Dustin Poirier at UFC 269.
Oliveira currently holds the record for having the most submission wins in the UFC, 15 wins. He also holds the record for the most finishes in the promotion, 18. It just seems like ‘Do Bronx’ is getter better and stronger with time.
The fighter has now made it to the top, but he started off with almost nothing. Oliveria came from a very poor family and was raised in the slums of Sao Paulo, Brazil. He fought his way through poverty and has seen a lot of difficulties in life. His rags to riches story is extremely inspiring.

He wrote, “Thank you, my friend, for all the affection and support. May God always bless you and light up. Let’s go with everything always towards the top.” (Translation via Instagram)
