Until Ariel Helwani‘s recent interview, the MMA world believed that the popular Canadian-American Journalist and former UFC two-division champion Daniel Cormier shared a cordial relationship. However, it seems that time has made their relationship quite bitter. At that moment, DC took a jab at the reporter for spreading false rumors about his friendship with Helwani. The MMA journalist and the UFC’s two-division champion became best buddies when they were the co-hosts of ESPN’s DC and Helwani Show.

Back in 2021, the two had exchanged some offensive tweets about each other. However, things were sorted out easily, and DC affirmed to the MMA world that everything was completely fine and they were good friends. Fans believed that there was no animosity between the two and that they continued to be great friends. However, it seems that their mended friendship didn’t last long. Now, once again, the two are having some beef with each other.

Ariel Helwani talks against the actions of Daniel Cormier

The MMA journalist was talking in his show, The MMA Hour. While talking about his relationship with DC Helwani, he said, “DC’s like ‘Let’s go for dinner.’ Never writes me back, and never checks in. This is the best part. I go to SmackDown and he says he’s going to SmackDown… DC calls me and he’s like ‘Oh why don’t you come sit with us’. I’m like ‘Oh didn’t even know you were here’. I go sit with him all right. He’s there with some of my old ESPN friends… I’m sitting there for a minute. He goes ‘Hey move to the row below my cousin is coming to the city’ I was like ‘god this guy’.” 

Talking further about DC, Helwani continued, “This is the best part, leaves I’m sitting in a section by myself and doesn’t say goodbye… never calls. He says we’ll go for dinner or breakfast but doesn’t call about either. I mean, I’m starting to question the whole relationship.“

Cormier says they are all “Lies”

The video of Helwani talking against Cormier soon found its way into Twitter. A Twitter user named AFeldmanMMA posted the video on the social media platform and tweeted, “Hey @dc_mma, any comment on these accusations?? I don’t think this is how true friends treat each other…”

Cormier came across the question to which he answered, “Lies!!!!!!!!!.” The whole incident indicated that the friendship between the two has already fallen apart. However, Helwani has not replied to Cormier yet. DC was not ready to accept any of the accusations put forward by the Canadian-American journalist. He feels that it is Helwani who is cooking up some stories.
