UFC’s featherweight prospect Bryce Mitchell has made yet another controversial statement. He has taken a shot at the current UFC featherweight champion, Alexander Volkanovski of participating in easier fights. The Aussie champion is set to take on UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev at UFC 284. He tops the UFC’s ranking list for best pound-for-pound fighters. Alexander Volkanovski has defended his title four times since winning the featherweight title at UFC 245 against Max Holloway. He can become UFC’s fifth double champion if he can beat Makhachev.

Bryce Mitchell has now made a comment claiming that Alexander Volkanoski had easy fights. “I can knock Alexander Volkanovski the f*** out for $10 million,” said Mitchell in a recent interview with Brett Okamoto. He also mentioned that he is fed up with the current featherweight champion claiming that there aren’t any contenders. ‘Thug Nasty’ added, “He ain’t fighting the toughest motherf****rs, that’s what’s up with him. He’s getting the easy fights.”

Fans have a different perspective on Mitchell’s opinion of the Aussie champion and have ripped into him with harsh comments. Various Reddit users reacted to MMA News’s post and here’s what they had to say.

  • Lmao. Sit the f*** down Bryce, you just got the s**t beat out of you
  • Wow what featherweight would be so delusional?
  • Volk would break his face. Luckily we won’t have to watch that unless he starts stringing together some wins.
  • Ain’t this the bloke who took an L and said he was quitting mma
  • Bryce would be an easy fight himself lmao
  • Bryce sounds like a moron here but to be fair to him I don’t think there’s a chance in hell yair would accept a fight with him.
  • I don’t understand how Chad Mendes, Jose Aldo, Max Holloway, Brian Ortega and Islam are “easy fights” but ok.

Fans have criticized Mitchell’s comments and mentioned that he is unlikely to take on Alexander Volkanovski if he was presented with the opportunity. They think that ‘Thug Nasty’ would be an “easy fight” for ‘The Great’ Volkanovski. Fans do not believe that Mitchell could keep up with the featherweight champion despite his record of 15 wins and 2 losses.
