Shields backs up Kayla Harrison over asking Ariel Helwani to leave the US

Kayla Harrison was the latest guest on MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani. Both exchanged Thanksgiving wishes and Harrison congratulated Helwani on officially becoming a citizen of the greatest country in the world. To which, Helwani replied, “I’d argue I am from the greatest country in the world.” Responding to this, Kayla Harrison jokingly said, “Okay. Then go home.”

Not the first time Shields took a jibe at Helwani

Ariel Helwani and Jake Shields engaged in a verbal spat earlier on Twitter. It all started in 2021 when Shields made fun of Helwani to be the only one to wear a mask at the Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley fight in Florida. He captured a video of the moment and posted it on his Twitter. And according to Shields, Helwani was still upset about the year-old joke and further called the journalist ‘a weirdo’.

However, Helwani didn’t pay much heat to the remark and responded with a tweet saying, “Let it out big guy”.

Shields got furious over this and stormed back at Ariel Helwani on Twitter, asking him to “stop pretending.”
