He had lost his father, Rojelio Cruz. in December last year and shared his grief with fans on social media. His father was a central figure in his life. In the pictures shared by Dominick Cruz earlier, it appeared that his old man was a big influence on the entire family. New pictures have now been shared by Dominick Cruz, where he is seen spreading his father’s ashes in the ocean in a very emotional moment for him and his family.

Dominick Cruz had his grandfather, whom he mentioned as the OG Rojelio Cruz, in his emotional post. The post read, “With the OG Rojelio cruz, my grandfather. We spread my dads ashes in the ocean here where he wanted to be. I feel It’s always a crazy thing when your grandfather outlives your own father, but I’m so grateful to have family, when things seem dim, I’m glad I can lean in to the darkness with my family to step back into the light and find the balance.”

Fans stand by Cruz in emotional times

Dominick Cruz found support from fans and MMA world as he said a final goodbye to the departed soul. Former TUF champion and BJJ coach Chris Holdsworth sent his condolences to Cruz. He wrote, “Sorry for your loss Dom”.

Bellator bantamweight fighter Goyito Perez commented, “Much love brother”.

UFC commentator Jon Anik commented with a single heart emoji, but his emotions will be understood by Dominick Cruz. Losing his father was like losing a pillar of strength for him. He mentioned how he was fortunate to have his grandfather still around.
