Joaquin Buckley believes there is more to the success of undefeated ranked fighters- Ian Garry, Khamzat Chimaev, and Shavkat Rakhmonov. ‘New Mansa’, coming off a victory against Andre Fialho at UFC Vegas 73, accused the trio of “hand picking” fights and safeguarding their unblemished record.

The 29-year-old fighter unleashed a scathing remark as he took on his rivals. His comment came after he had recently blasted ‘Borz’ for inactivity in Octagon since his fight against Kevin Holland in September last year. The tensions between the two date back to 2020 when the Swede failed to recognize the American fighter. The 16-6 record holder is still finding his footing in the welterweight division after his recent switch to turn around his career and is already calling shots against the better-ranked foes.

Buckley responded to a post on Instagram that asked a curious question of which of three undefeated fighters will be crowned champion first. Notably, Garry is ranked #13 in the division and boasts a record of 12-0 whereas Rakhmonov, at 17-0, is ranked #6th. The better placed of the two is Chimaev, at 12-0, who is currently holding the #4 rank.

In his reply, Buckley wrote, “It’s easy to be undefeated when you hand picking yo fights 💯”.

How did the fans react to Buckley’s indictments?

These comments didn’t sit well with the fans, who reminded him of his recent sliding record and especially his loss against ‘Trailblazer’ in his promotional debut.
