‘You Still a Bum’- Israel Adesanya Ridicules Derek Brunson After His Submission Win Over Darren Till

UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya took to social media and responded to Derek Brunson’s most recent call-out. Brunson picked up a third-round submission win over Darren Till in the main event for UFC Vegas 36. The grizzly veteran came back from some adversity and secured clinical takedowns and top control to pick up this finish.
Following his statement win over the Englishman, Derek Brunson was fired up and fired shots at ‘The Last Stylebender’. Chiefly, both men met in the cage back in 2018 and ‘Izzy’ made short work of Derek Brunson at the time. However, Brunson is a completely changed fighter and he’s become a legitimate threat to the title.

Ever since beating Derek Brunson, Israel Adesanya hasn’t had much regard for Brunson’s overall skill set. Adesanya aimed to undercut Brunson after his victory and he did just that by downplaying the magnitude of his win. Both men went back and forth and the lead-up to their potential fight could be extremely explosive if it comes together.

Derek Brunson: Title shot or bust
The 37-year-old veteran may be past his physical prime but he seems to have come into his own as an MMA fighter. He’s currently riding a 5-fight win streak and has wins over notable names like Kevin Holland, Edmen Shahbazyan, and now, Darren Till. What’s more, he arguably handed Till his most comprehensive beat down since losing to Tyron Woodley.

Brunson has been the underdog in all of his recent fights and he wasn’t favored to defeat Till on the lines. A reason for his underdog status could be the fact that he’s seen as someone who chokes on the big opportunities. Apart from ‘Izzy’, he’s lost to Robert Whittaker, Yoel Romero, and Anderson Silva.
Derek Brunson has now earned an opportunity to rematch Adesanya and for the undisputed title no less. It remains to be seen if he decided to sit out and wait until Adesanya finish his business with Robert Whittaker in their rematch. However, one thing is for sure, Derek Brunson will put up a fight and take the war right to Adesanya’s doorsteps.
