Ronda Rousey is appropriately one of the most fearsome fighters in the women’s mixed martial arts scene. Back in 2015, Rousey dominated her opponents each time she stepped into the Octagon. She was certainly a fearsome opponent during her UFC days and rose to popularity because of her impressive displays.

However, ‘Rowdy’ was so confident in her abilities that she flipped her opponents with almost no effort. But, only one opponent really got her angry. So angry, that she deliberately played around before she finished her off. Because ‘Rowdy’ did not want to show her any mercy.

Ronda Rousey believed she took her time with her UFC 190 opponent, Bethe Correia, despite taking only 34 seconds to knock her out. The Brazilian was undefeated until the fight, but Rousey couldn’t care less. She continued her ritual, to end her fights within the shortest amount of time.

When a reporter asked her if fans would ever get to see her fight for more than a minute, Rousey responded, “they gotta earn it, I’m not gonna give it to ‘em.”

Rousey commented on this habit, ahead of the UFC 191 fans’ Q&A session, the event also featured Joanna Jedrzejczyk along with’ Rowdy’

She said, “The last one (UFC 190) I made it a little longer, y’know.”

It was longer than the last two before that, combined.”

I specifically didn’t go to the ground. She clinched, I broke the clinch, I didn’t take her down.”

I was really taking my time that day.”

There were multiple reasons behind her taking that match-up so seriously. However, ‘Pitbull’s insults at ‘Rowdy’s late father fueled the fire inside her.

Things got personal between the two female fighters

Ronda Rousey tragically lost her father, who committed suicide when she was 8 years old. ‘The Arm Collector’ still cherishes fond memories of her father and looks up to him. Therefore, she couldn’t stomach some of Bethe Correia’s insults at her father during their weigh-ins. But, ‘The Fast and Furious’ star had the last laugh.

In the post-fight press conference with FOX sports, Rousey revealed “I said the same things that she said to me in the weigh-ins,”

She explained, “She was saying (in Portuguese) ‘don’t cry’, so I turned to her after I knocked her out and said ‘don’t cry’.”

Therefore, Ronda Rousey took her sweet time to finish ‘Pitbull’ after her multiple taunts.
