Social media is full of pages that put out hypothetical fights aiming to garner more reactions from users. Most of them usually have fans calling out on the stupidity of such posts, but in rare cases, some people actually care to leave their wild opinions in the comments. In one such instance, an MMA page on Facebook posted a photo of actor Dwayne Johnson and Jon Jones. Attached to it was the text ‘The guy on the right would absolutely destroy the dude on the left in a 1-on-1 street fight!’  The guy on the right clearly being Jones with Johnson on the left.

People would naturally expect the comments made to be in the affirmative. But surprisingly, a section of the fans thought otherwise. In this article, we have compiled a few of the comments that caught our attention and would surely catch yours.

Fans left divided on Jon Jones vs Dwayne Johnson

As expected, there were many comments that agreed with the claim of Jones beating Johnson in a street fight. Some fans were pretty hilarious in pointing that out as well.

One fan pointed out ‘The Rock‘s alleged steroid use, “The Rock against JJ….that would be hilarious… Jon’s would beat the steroids right outta the rock”

While another believed only an accident could let Johnson win against Jones. “There’s no room where the rock wins this without an accident or fluke”

However, what caught our eyes were the ones that were rooting for the WWE star. Take a look at the next comments and relish them.

“Ummmmm The Rock is a wrastler! No way he would lose!”, read a comment left by presumably a WWE fan.

A genius even brought up the Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor boxing match to claim that MMA is overrated.

“Not really… MMA is overrated. We all saw what Mayweather did to Conor yet in UFC he was the “best hands” in his division…”

The next comment had a sarcastic tone, but he still claimed that Johnson would win. “I’m sure the rock would destroy that gas station employee on the right”

Also, someone was even brave enough to back his claim on Johnson winning on the basis of a movie.”Anyone who has seen the movie walking tall knows that the rock could destroy Jones.”

‘Muscles don’t win fights’ but this fan clearly believes otherwise. “Depends on the fight and how it goes. If Rock gets a hold of him he can easily strangle the life out of him. Watch the workout with Aaron Donald. There’s many years of strength build there.”

Well, in the end, we did find a comment questioning all of these.

“how is there actually people in the comments denying this” read the gentleman’s comment.

Does Johnson really stand a chance against Jones?

It would be foolish to deny that Dwayne Johnson has no athletic abilities. But to claim that he could win a fight over presumably the greatest fighter of all time is surely a far-fetched idea. Although for the sake of debate, we should take a look at Johnson’s career apart from that of his professional wrestling one.

‘The Rock’, as he is famously known, is no doubt built like a machine. His intense workouts are a fan favorite, while the role he plays in movies is also primarily built around his physical attributes. There’s no denying that his strength levels would be way above average.

Apart from wrestling, Johnson had a brief career as an American football player. Prior to playing in the Canadian Football League, he plied his trade at the University of Miami. But one thing’s for sure, he is no Brock Lesnar.

It’s safe to say that although he is physically strong, the chances of Johnson beating Jones are extremely slim unless something magical takes place.
