Jairzinho Rozenstruik is pleased with the fact that Jon Jones is finally paving his step into the heavyweight division.

Jones has already been touted to go against some of the biggest names of the roster on his debut. However, nothing has come to terms yet. Meanwhile, Dana White has excluded Jon Jones from the title track for the timing, citing Ngannou as the primary contender.

While Francis Ngannou would seemingly go against Stipe Miocic, Jones will register his heavyweight debut in a non-title contest. That said, ‘Biggi Boy’ Rozenstruik wants to train harder for a possible matchup in the future.

Jairzinho Rozenstruik vs Jon Jones can be a treat to watch

Speaking with MMA Junkie, Rozenstruik has hailed Jon Jones as a “great fighter” and seemed optimistic about seeing the light heavyweight veteran in heavyweight action.

That means Rozenstruik and Jones can possibly collide soon. ‘Biggi Boy’ is currently a top-rated contender and it’s difficult to erase him from the championship race.

Speaking about Jones’ entry, Roznstruik said, “Jon Jones in the heavyweight division is the new trend (at) heavyweight, and it gives me as a fighter (reason) to train harder on things that I think other fighters do. Jon Jones is a great fighter. He’s a good fighter, and for me, it just motivates me more to look forward.”

He also added, “I think if the UFC give him the title shot, that means he deserves it.”

The 32-year-old Surinamese fighter has silenced his critics with just a year in the UFC. Making his debut in 2019, Rozenstruik has competed four times in the year.

He won all four of his fights via knockout and alarmed the entire division. However, he kicked off 2020 with an upset.

2020- A  bit of a surprise

Like the year itself, Rozenstruik was a bit surprised with a shocking loss when he collided against Francis Ngannou at UFC 249. ‘The Predator’ ran through him within 20 seconds and handed ‘Biggi Boy’ the first loss of his career.
