“I think the best thing for him. I’m not saying this is what’s going to happen. But in my opinion, he lets this Gaethje-Khabib fight play out and he fights the winner. I think that’s the smartest move for him. But, you know him, maybe he wants to fight before that and if he does, we can figure something out. I think that is the move for him right now.”

In that same conversation, White revealed the company has booked fights until the 18th. However, his latest comments indicate that the Irish fighter will not be in action for a long time as the Lightweight Championship unification bout is tentatively penciled in for September. But, he did leave the door open for a return saying they can figure something out.
Whilst, the UFC President has dismissed a Welterweight title fight with Kamaru Usman for ‘Notorious.’ A Welterweight fight could be on the cards with the Nate Diaz trilogy being an exciting option. Furthermore, Tony Ferguson will be cleared to fight in mid-July. He could present ‘Notorious’ a top lightweight contender he has been yearning for.
