

UFC Heavyweight Francis Ngannou has been utilizing time during quarantine to help fans with workouts at home.
Of course, since gyms remain closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, people are looking for ways to maintain fitness. A physical specimen himself, the hard-hitting “Predator” uploads videos on YouTube for those people who don’t know exactly what to do to meet their fitness goals.

In the latest edition of the work out series, Ngannou shared several exercises to meet cardio goals. Anyone who knows fitness knows that meeting cardio targets is one of the most essential workouts of all. Whether you’re a fighter or a basketball player, keeping the heart strong and pumping enough blood is mandatory for being able to perform.

And thus, Ngannou decided to share with us how he keeps his heart strong. Cardio is an extremely important aspect of an MMA athlete’s training, even though Francis hasn’t really required to be in the Octagon for so long recently!
The HIIT Cardio Circuit with Francis Ngannou
Warm-up
Francis starts his high-intensity interval training as all athletes should. With a proper warm-up. In this, Ngannou carries out the on-spot heel-to-butt touches. Thereafter, he proceeds to the on-spot outward knee raises with alternative hand-touches.

Here’s the complete workout that Ngannou carries out:
- Jump, Jump, Squat (5 rounds, 60 secs per round): Involves a light jump, followed by another light jump with the third jump going into a squat position, completing the squat, and repeating the procedure.
- Reverse Lunge Squat Hold (5 rounds, 60 secs per round): Carrying out lunges with the sideways transition. Squat hold position mid-transition.
- Explosive Jump Squats (5 rounds, 60 secs per round): Squats leading to the highest jump possible with repetition.
- Burpees (5 rounds, 60 secs per round): The classic cardio mammoth, it involves a swift transition between push-ups and jumps. The executor first goes down for a push-up, gets up with the pace to carry out a star jump, and repeats the process.
