While everything seems well-planned and structured in his life, there was a time he was on the verge of going bankrupt. Helpless and lost, a recommendation to take up acting as a profession from his student, Steve McQueen, turned out to be a game-changer.

Steve McQueen, an Academy award nominee actor, was one of Norris? students. Although it seemed to be a lucrative option, the ?Way of the Dragon? antagonist was not confident enough to make the next move. But how did things change??
Steve McQueen endorsed Chuck Norris as one with a great screen presence
In an exclusive interview with the Penthouse, Noris shared how instrumental Steve McQueen was in choosing to act as a serious career. Despite being endowed with exceptional martial arts skills, Norris lost all his karate schools. ?I had to sell them to avoid a bankruptcy,? he said.?

During that time, McQueen?s idea ignited a career that opened doors to a professional life of glory and stardom. ?Why don?t you try the acting field?? he proposed. Doubtful and skeptical about the viability of the idea, Norris gave a reality check to the actor that he had never set foot on a stage, even for a high school play.
Norris continued that while he had done the Bruce Lee movie yet, he didn?t shoulder a full-fledged role. ?..all I did was get off the plane to fight Bruce.? When he described acting as having stage presence, McQueen said, ?I think you?ve got it.? McQueen?s words of encouragement gave him a ray of hope and he marched forward in pursuit of his life-changing goal.? ?

Chuck Norris acted in a movie before his well-known debut with Bruce Lee
Norris played a small role in a 1969 film called??The Wrecking Crew.? He then appeared in the iconic battle with Bruce Lee in ‘Return of Dragon‘ in 1972. It was during this phase that McQueen recommend Norris take acting seriously.?
