“Damn Girl, You Are Pregnant”: Weightlifter and To-Be-Mom Shocks Internet With Heavy Lifting

A dominant name in bodybuilding and a six-time CrossFit Games Women’s champion, Tia Clair Toomey surprised her fans with delightful news. On 24th December 2022, she announced that she was expecting her first child with husband, Shane Orr. Because of this, she won’t be participating in the 2023 Competitive season.
However, breaking the pre-set societal norms, the Commonwealth Gold medalist is showing the world that even women who are pregnant can work out safely in the gym. Leading with example, the expecting mother shared an Instagram video where she could be seen lifting heavy weights. Impressed fans dropped their reactions.

Dressed in casual gym wear, Toomey was spotted again in the gym. Lifting some insane weights, the 29-year-old successfully mastered the clear jerk. Killing the Monday blues, she looked all pumped while she did all the lifting. Her Instagram fandom was quick to share their appreciation, thoroughly impressed by her skills.

While, Toomey would be away from participating in any of the competitive games, due to her pregnancy, her fans had a different view. Assuring her that she would have lifted the trophy had she participated, one of her admirers wrote, “I think if Tia could go to the Games this year pregnant, she would still win!” Falling short of words, many of her fans were left speechless, and hence sought refuge in the fire “🔥” emojis to best express their emotions.

However, some of her fans also advised her to take some rest after a workout. Expressing their love and concern, a user wrote, “Damn girl, you are pregnant. Go eat a damn cake. You have done enough.” While many of the users shared their own pregnancy journey, one of the users wrote, “Awesome 😍🔥.”
More appreciation for the mom-to-be
Even though the little bundle of joy had derailed her plans for the 2023 season, Toomey holds no regret. She calls the news to be the “greatest surprise.” On the eve of Christmas, she made the official announcement with a series of pictures. As of now, Toomey is taking a break from her professional career and is focusing on her motherhood journey and health.

Some of the Instagram users also thanked her for helping break myths that suggested training while pregnant is a big no-no. Thus, expressing her gratitude, the user wrote, “Thank you for showing that women can continue training while pregnant. People used to give my wife a hard time because she’s never stopped. I think our kids are healthy because of her efforts.”
