The actress recollected, “All of this happened during the lockdown. So, the craziest thing was, I was like in my house, and the internet was telling me things were happening, but I didn’t believe it.”

However, as soon as the lockdown restrictions eased, Anya went to New York. That is when she realized how famous well the show was, and she had become more popular than before.

“And then I landed in New York and realized – Whoops! This is different, must run,” the actress proudly recalled. The Queen’s Gambit became a big hit among users and was one of the top shows on Netflix in 2020. The show is the adaption of the fictional book, also named the Queen’s Gambit by Walter Tevis.
