Simone Biles Takes Indirect Stance In Backlash Over Jonathan Owens With Unconventional New Year Wish

Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens have walked a long path from the gymnast’s first step on Raya to tying the knot three years later. On a journey filled with love, support, and admiration, a harshness from outside the bounds has found its way to the power couple. More so with the recent occurrences on The Pivot Podcast highlighting Owens’ remark on ‘men being the catch’. Nonetheless, the duo has walked a path to keep the hate at bay.

Recently, the Packers’ safety received negative reactions from the community online over his response to the duo’s initial stages of relationship. However, the 7-time Olympic medalist stepped ahead to stand by Owen’s through discreet gestures. This time around, the pattern stayed as Biles set forth a message and a wish for the approaching new year.

The 2-time Olympic gymnast has seldom been rid of criticism from the spectators. No matter the height of the podium, unkind remarks have always found their way. This time around, the negative energy only persisted with Owens’ on the receiving end by her. However, Simone Biles did not let it faze her as she took to Instagram to reshare a post by Justin Laboy, emphasizing the quote present. “Stop bringing me up. Work on that for the New Year!” the first thread of the post read.

It was further followed by “Keep stalking my page and ima put you as my profile picture,” though only the first one made it to Biles’ Instagram stories. The stance arrived after multiple warming gestures by the two. The gestures that proved the warmth between them weren’t going to subside to the spectators’ unkind opinions.

The duo blindside hate

It was in 2020 that Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens started a bond. “The only time I fall is when he’s there to catch me,” Biles wrote in one of their initial posts. And years later, the safety net roles for each other continue with every harsh step. Recently, the warmth shined as Owens shared a lunch date update while Simone posted the goofiness the couple embraced.
